Ezagutza soziolinguistikoaren ikerketan, zabalpenean, eta aplikazioan ditugun gabeziei eta beharrei dinamika berri batekin erantzuteko. Euskal Herrian hizkuntza normalizazio prozesuan inplikaturik dauden erakunde eta taldeentzat –pribatu, publiko, zein gizarte mailako- arlo zientifiko-aplikatutik datuak, metodologiak, eta bestelako materialak eskaintzeko egitasmoak lantzen ditu, jarduteko moduaren gaineko ezagutza eta, ondorioz, normalizazio ahaleginen emaitzak hobetzeko.
Nondik dator?Proiektu honen inguruko lehen urratsak, bere garaian, Quebec-etik bueltan, Erramun Baxok doktoreak proposatu zuen ideia baten inguruko hausnarketatik abiatu ziren: gure herrian CIRBren antzerako gune bat sortzearen egokitasuna.
2000ko azaroan “Euskal Soziolinguistika Institutua Sortzen” SINPOSIUMa antolatu zen Gasteizen eta bertan arloko teknikari eta aditu talde zabal batek diagnosi horrekin bat egin zuen eta handik abiatu zen zenbait erakunderen arteko lankidetza (Lankidetza protokoloa I eta II), gerora definitzen eta osatzen joan dena.
The Sociolinguistics Cluster has been set up to respond with a new dynamic to the needs and deficiencies we have in the research, diffusion and application of sociolinguistic knowledge. It will run projects to make data, methodologies and other materials from the applied science field available to private, public or social organisations and groups involved in the language normalisation process in the Basque Country. The aim is to improve the knowledge about the way of working and, in turn, the results of efforts to normalise the Basque language.
Where did it originate? The first steps in this project began with reflections on an idea put forward by Dr. Erramun Baxok on his return from Quebec: that it would be appropriate to set up a centre similar to the ICRB (International Center for Research on Bilingualism) in our country.
In November 2000 the “Euskal Soziolinguistika Institutua Sortzen” SYMPOSIUM was held in Gasteiz (Vitoria) to set up a Basque Institute of Sociolinguistics. In it a broad-based group of officers and experts in the field concurred with that diagnosis, and this led to cooperation among a number of organisations (Cooperation Protocol I and II), which was later specified and added to.
As the title of the SYMPOSIUM itself indicates, the original intention was to create an Institute. Throughout the designing of the project the possibility of setting up a Clusterwas looked into and was adopted during the «SIKeraiki» Working Conference held in Zamudio (Bizkaia) in November 2001.
Klusterra taldekatze bat da, esparru jakin batean elkarren artean nolabaiteko lotura, harremana, edo interes partekatua duten entitateen, enpresen, eta instituzioen arteko taldekatzea. Klust The cluster system is mainly used in the industrial sector. The concept was brought here by Michael Porter and clusters operate in many areas. Our main reference has been the Knowledge Cluster.
The cluster is a grouping of entities, companies or institutions that have a kind of link or relationship with each other in a specific field, or a shared interest. The Cluster seeks new kinds of cooperation, although it accepts competition among its members, in order to enhance the dynamics of the field and respond to the projects which they are unable to respond to individually. The complementarity and common interests of members create a value that is greater than the mere sum of the parts; Clusters create synergies.
[D]Mission: the mission of the Sociolinguistics Cluster is to develop sociolinguistics knowledge for the revival and normalisation of the Basque language (Euskara). To create suitable infrastructure, resources and conditions to achieve this, to build bridges between the scientific and applied fields, and to create meeting point networks with agents in the field for reflection as well as cooperation.
Vision:Within the space of four or five years the Sociolinguistics Cluster will be an institution that is the main reference in the sociolinguistics of Basque; one that will have contacts with agents at home and abroad and one that, through cooperative projects and with the necessary autonomy, will have the interests of its members at heart and will respond to the needs of knowledge about the process for reviving the Basque language.
