At the request of the Basque language services in the Bortziriak area (also known as “Cinco Villas” in the Baztan region of Navarre) the sociolinguistic situation of Bortziriak will be studied. All the currently usable sociolinguistic data will be put to this purpose. An attempt will be made to establish lines of action or criteria in order to read and interpret the data and thus, at the end of the day, make them usable.
