Measurement of street use in the Basque Country. Details of the research

The Basque Country’s Measurement of Street Use has been going on for a considerable period of time by now, for the last 17 years, in fact. It has been repeated every four or five years since it was first conducted in 1989. The edition we are looking at now is the 5th one, and this paper will be assessing the main features and innovations of the research. In this 5th Street.

Measurement observations were conducted in 62 municipalities, and a total of 185,316 people were observed. In addition to the language used by the people observed, the characteristics of these people were also recorded. There were four variables in all: age, sex, group composition and presence of children.
